This presentation tries to give an overview over both very common and unique problems encountered during this effort. [30 minutes] pkg_select, a curses based package browser, has grown up during the past year. Now it is capable of fetching pkgsrc by many mediums, upgrading it, working with a set of binary packages instead of pkgsrc, processing system binaries archives and much more. In this presentation I'll outline the main features of pkg_select, its architecture, and what's in the pipeline.

We will try to assemble a set of functional requirements and brainstorm a design to encompass those requirements.
